Linksys PAP2T Speed Dial Set Up:

The Linksys ATA unit has the capability to store 8 different speed dial numbers. The 8 different numbers are stored and recalled under sequence 2 to 9. For example, If you store 333-4445555 under sequence 2, then whenever you want to call 333-4445555 all you need to do is just dial 2#. The system will recall the stored number and will start to call 333-4445555 immediately.

There are two methods to enter the speed dial settings on your ATA Adapter. The First method is based on the web administrator (using web browser). The second method is based on using the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menu on the telephone handset.

Setting up speed dial using web browser:

Step1: Dial ****110# on your handset and the get the IP address of your ATA unit. It will be in the XXX.XXX.XX.XXX format . Now open your web browser (internet explorer or similar) and type in the IP address in the following format http://XXX.XXX.XX.XXX/.

For example, if your ATA device IP address is 123.456.78.912, then you should type http://123.456.78.912/

Once you get the blue configuration screen, follow the steps below

Click on the Admin Login link as shown on the picture on your left side. After this click on the Advanced View link. Once you get to the advanced view screen, click on user1 tab (assuming your phone is connected to line 1 on the hardware unit) as shown in the picture below.

Under the speed dial settings section you will see 8 slots. All these slots can be filled with different numbers. After entering phone numbers, save the settings. The numbers can be accesed by pressing 2#,3#,4#,5#,6#,7#,8#,9#.

Hint: Try to follow a character sequence while entering the numbers to make your life easier. For Example, you can enter your fathers number under sequence 3, so that whenever you want to call your father you can look at the phone keypad and press 3# (since 3 corresponds to DEF characters, where Father starts with "F").

Second Method Using the IVR menu:

For example, to enter 333-4445555 under sequence 2.

Step1: Dial *74 on your handset.

Step2: Dial 2 ( you will hear a single tone), then dial 3334445555 (you will hear dual single tones)

Step3: You are done.

Similarly you can enter and store numbers under sequences 2 to 9.

Remember, there is no speed dial option under number 1.
