Linksys PAP2T Google Voice Integration Trouble Shooting Guide:

On this trouble shooting guide, we will provide as much information as possible to the best of our knowledge.

Before proceeding further, we will direct you to the administration manual for the linksys PAP2T ATA device. We are sure that the following manual will help you in understanding the device capabilities and different configuration on the device. This manual will also help you to trouble shoot your ATA device yourself.

TroubleShooting and Possible Solutions

Eventhough there can be many reasons for a ATA unit to fail working, we will list some pointers for some of the commonly known problems.

Problem 1: No Dial Tone on Handset

Possible Solutions

1...Make sure internet connection is available.

2...Make sure the phone is connected to the correct line1 (or line2) on the ATA adapter.

3...Reset your modem. because sometimes the modem will get disconnected from the ATA unit.

4...Make sure you have a valid dial plan. If the dial plan has syntax errors, then you won't get the dial tone. Look at the dial plan implementation tutorial on this website.

5...Look at the settings under "Google Voice Free phone Service Tutorial part 1" on this website. your settings might be wrong.

6...Try to assign static IP to your ATA unit and also perform port 5060 forwarding on your broadband router. This is explained under "Linksys PAP2T static IP setup procedure" and "Trendnet broadband Router Port forwarding tutorial.

7...Reset your ATA device to factory default settings using tutorial "Linksys PAP2T Factory Default Reset Procedure" and Configure your ATA from the begining using tutorials "Google Voice Free phone Service Tutorial part 1 and part 2".


Problem 2: Handset Does Not Ring to Incoming Calls

Possible Solution

1...Under the Admin Login, go to the advanced view and then click on the Regional settings tab, under the Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec make sure the Ring waveform is "Trapezoid".

2...Make sure your handset is working.

Problem 3: Outgoing Calls Fail After Some Time (Example: 25 Seconds)

Possible Solution

1...Assign Static IP to your ATA device and forward port 5060 on your broadband router.

2...Make sure your internet connection is not intermittent.
