Step 2c: Setting up your gizmo5 account.

Now login into your gizmo5 account and under the Call forwarding tab select "No Forwarding" as shown in the picture on the left hand side. Save your settings on gizmo5 account.

Step 2d: Integrating google voice and gizmo5 accounts.

Now log in to your google voice account and click the settings tab on the top right options tab. Then click add new phone. Enter the gizmo5 number and select phone type as gizmo. Now add this phone. now goolge voice will try to verify this phone by ringing the handset through your ATA adapter. Enter the two digit confirmation code as shown by google voice screen. Congrats, you are done with your home phone set up. Try a couple of both incoming and outgoing calls to verify the connection.

Points to be noted:

#1 On your google voice account, click the settings tab and then click the calls tab. Here under the Call Presentation section, click on the Off button. This will connect the calls directly to your handset just like any regular landline connection, else you will get options from google voice while recieving the calls. If you like to recieve calls with options, then press 1 to recieve the incoming calls.

#2 Since this free home phone service uses your broadband internet connection, you might encounter temporary interruptions if you are uploading or downloading huge amounts of data on the internet during placing or recieving a call. It is recommended to stop all internet activity like streaming videos, transfering huge files, etc while using this phone service.

#3 As mentioned earlier, the outgoing calls are limited to 3 minutes duration. If you want to talk more, then you should buy more call time credits on gizmo5.
